BOLLYWOOD BABY JOY
Bollywood couple Soha Ali Khan and Kunal Khemu recently became the proud parents of a baby daughter, who they named Inaaya Naumi Kemmu. Soha’s superstar sister in law Kareena Kapoor Khan, who gave birth to her first child Taimur last December, said he finally has a little sister to play with.
DIMP’S MAGIC TOUCH
Eastern Eye hair/beauty expert Dimple Sanghani regularly gets called up to film and television sets to work her magic. Most recently she was called in to do the hair/makeup on Bollywood film Hate Story 4 including for one of the lead stars Karan Wahi. The interesting looking film has been shooting in London and releases next year.
CELINA’S HEARTBREAK
Bollywood actress Celina Jaitly recently gave birth to her second set of twins but was heartbroken when one of the boys died shortly after birth due to a heart defect. It has been a tumultuous few months for the Dubai-based star as her father passed away a few months ago. She received messages of support from around the world and we at Eastern Eye wish her well.
AMY IS FLYING HIGH
WHEN I spoke to Amy Jackson earlier this year she told me about her plan to crack Hollywood. The British Bollywood beauty has now got her wish and landed a recurring role in Supergirl. She will play Imra Ardeen, who is also superhero Saturn Girl in the popular television series. On the film front, Amy will next be seen in sci-fi sequel 2.0 opposite Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar next year.
NO HARD FEELINGS
THERE have been reports that Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have been refusing films together, but that is only because the offers aren’t good enough. The stars have put any bad feelings long behind them and are keen to work together again. A number of production houses have approached them since they were briefly seen together in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, but none have a winning screenplay both want to do.
ABDUL SPARKS ALI’S RISE
WHEN I spoke to actor Ali Fazal last month I told him his superb recent release Victoria & Abdul would be a game changer for him. Although Ali was cautious before the release of the acclaimed historical drama, I was confident it would open international doors for him and I was right. The actor now has massive offers for international projects lined up from Hollywood and the UK. He has a top team looking after him and will commence the first of the projects next year. Fazal will next be seen in Bollywood comedy sequel Fukrey Returns on December 8.
