Must watch biopic movies in Bollywood

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag

It is an Indian biographical sports drama film directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and script written by Prasoon Joshi. The story is based on the life of Milkha Singh who is known as The Flying Sikh is an Indian athlete who was a national champion runner and an Olympian. It features actor Farhan Akhtar in the titular role as Milkha Singh.

Neerja

Neerja is a 2016 Indian biographical thriller film directed by Ram Madhvani and written by Saiwyn Quadras and Sanyuktha Chawla Shaikh.The film features Sonam Kapoor in the lead role. Neerja is the story of the courageous Neerja Bhanot, who sacrificed her life while protecting the lives of 359 passengers on the Pan Am flight 73 in 1986. The flight was hijacked by a terrorist organization.

Mary Kom

Mary Kom is another sports biopic movie which drops on the list of the Best Biopics of all the time. This movie shows the chronicle of the life of Indian boxer Mary Kom, who went through several hardships before audaciously accomplishing her ultimate dream. The movie is directed by Omung Kumar. It features actress Priyanka Chopra in the lead role.

Sarabjit

It is a biographical drama film directed by Omung Kumar. The film features Aishwarya Rai as Dalbir Kaur and Randeep Hooda as Sarabjit Singh. The film shows an Indian man who was sentenced to death by the Supreme Court of Pakistan in 1991 and who consequently spent 22 years in prison for alleged terrorism and spying. On the contrary, Sarabjit has claimed that he was a farmer who strayed into Pakistan from his village that has been located on the borders. Though the Central Board of Pakistan banned the movie from being anti-Pakistani.

M.S Dhoni: The Untold Story 

The movie is a sports biographical drama. The story of the movie is based on the life of an Indian Cricketer and a former Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The movie has been directed by director Neeraj Pandey. However, the movie reveals the untold story of Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s journey from ticket collector to trophy collector – the world-cup-winning captain of the Indian Cricket Team. Sushant Singh Rajput played the role of M.S Dhoni in the movie alongside actress Disha Patni.
