My Pod with RV Narang

By: PrajaktaMohite

NEWCASTLE-born RV Narang has released four singles and is currently working on his debut album My Way, which is due for release in summer 2018. He also has various other projects including collaborating with upcoming artists for release due early next year. The singer/songwriter selected 10 top songs he loves.

Zindagi Ye Safar Mein Hai by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan: I love this song because of the feelings and emotions Rahat Ji puts into it. The lyrics have a great meaning too. The song takes you on a unique musical journey and is one I definitely don’t get bored of.

Boli Poni by Soni Pabla (Desi Mix): This song is purely for the dance floor and sung exceptionally well. Soni is not around anymore, so that makes the song extra special. This game-changer gets the crowd pumped up for a good dance every time it drops.

Tum Bin Jaoon Kahan from Pyar Ka Mausam: One of my all time favourites by the legendary Mohd Rafi saab. There will never be another singer like Rafi. The remarkable thing about this melodious song is Kishore Kumar sang it too.

Payalay Chunmun from Virasat: Being a lover of 1990s Bollywood this is definitely a favourite. Kumar Sanu’s voice is like silk on this track and the music by Anu Malik is timeless. In fact, all the music in the movie was great and ahead of its time.

Wafawaan by Alex Koti: This song is simply my favourite of 2017. Alex Koti, the son of the legend Sabar Koti, had to deliver something special and truly does. I love the feeling the song gives you. The music on the track is outstanding.

De Deedar by Lakhwinder Wadali: A personal favourite of mine for the meaning behind it and the way it makes you feel. I was very fortunate to meet Lakhwinder Wadali and he is a very humble down-to-earth artist. I have liked all the albums he has done to date especially Unpredictable with Mukhtar Sahota.

Who Is It by Michael Jackson: One of my biggest inspirations in music. This song is the reason I fell in love with music. MJ’s vocals are unreal. The music even today sounds fresh and revolutionary.

Ishq by Stereo Nation: I have no words to explain what a great record this is. As a DJ, every time I play this track it gives the crowd a really happy upbeat aura. The production is tight, the vocals and lyrics are on point too.

Teriyan Akhiyan by RV Narang Ft. Mehi: I have chosen this song as it put me on the map. Whenever I listen to this song all the fond memories attached to it come flooding back. I planned the video carefully and am very proud of my achievements.

Dil De Varke by Kamal Khan: Picking one song to say that’s my favourite was hard, but I absolutely love this song. I could listen to it on repeat 24/7. The lyrics, composition and vocals are all on point. A complete masterpiece; a true gem.
