Actresses who married cricketers

Virat Kohli – Anushka Sharma

The newest couple in town. The current captain of the Indian cricket team, and one of the best batsmen in the world and she one of the top actresses in Bollywood. Virat and Anushka first met in 2013 when they were shooting for an ad. From thereon, began a romantic journey, that saw several ups and downs before they got married in Italy in a hushed affair.

Zaheer Khan – Sagarika Ghatge

He is the former spearhead of Indian fast bowling, and one of country’s leading wicket-takers and made her debut in Shah Rukh Khan’s Chak De India; is still popular for her role as Preety Sabharwal. Zaheer and Sagarika recently got married, a ceremony that was attended by Virat and Anushka as a couple. Zaheer was earlier linked to another actress, Isha Sharvani, but it didn’t work out.

Yuvraj Singh – Hazel Keech

One of India’s most dynamic cricketers, known for hitting Stuart Broad for six sixes in an over, and of course for that gritty battle against cancer. She is known for playing Kareena’s BFF in Bodyguard. Yuvraj Singh who has made lots of headlines for being close with many Bollywood actresses like Kim Sharma, Preity Zinta and Deepika Padukone. But he finally made an official announcement after being engaged to Hazel Keech in Bali and later getting married a year back.

Harbhajan Singh – Geeta Basra

Known as the Turbanotor. Was one of India’s successful spinners, and popular for slapping Sreesanth. She was popular for her roles in Dil Diya Hai and The Train. It was love at first sight for the cricketers as he recollects, “I saw her in a song – Woh Ajnabee – when I was playing county cricket in London. I told my friend that I want to meet this girl.” After team India won the T-20 World Cup in South Africa, he messaged her for coffee. Harbhajan and Geeta finally got married in 2015. They have a daughter, Hinaya Heer Plaha, born on July 27, 2016.

Sharmila Tagore – Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi

He was the youngest captain of Indian cricket team and she the queen of Bollywood. When the two met, Mansoor Ali didn’t know anything about the film industry. The Nawab of Pataudi married the beautiful Sharmila Tagore in 1968 and had the most long-running and successful marriages in the industry. They have three children – Saif Ali Khan, Soha and Saba.
