Bollywood actor Ankur Bhatia was last seen in Omung Kumar’s Sarbjit. He played the husband of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the film. However, Ankur is back on screen, as he plays the role of a husband to Shraddha Kapoor’s character Haseena in the upcoming release of Apoorva Lakhia’s Haseena Parkar. The actor divulges into details of Ibrahim who was the husband of gangster Dawood’s sister Haseena. Ibrahim was shot dead by gangster-turned-politician Arun Gawli’s gang members.
Ankur said to a leading Indian daily, “Initially, I had no idea about Ibrahim except for the fact that he was quite tall and well-built, which was why I was signed up to play the role. However, while interacting with Parkar and Haseena’s family, I discovered another side to his personality. Despite being a macho guy, who also worked as a stuntman in Bollywood films, Ibrahim had a playful side to him as well. A jovial person, Ibrahim was known for his larger-than-life personality and attitude as well as his romantic nature when it came to Haseena, who equally adored him. Needless to say, I was quite pleasantly surprised to know that beneath his tough guy exterior, he was quite the romantic.”
Haseena Parkar is the story about underworld don Dawood’s sister Haseena who took the responsibility of Dawood’s empire after he disappeared from the city. The film which was slated to release on August 18, is now releasing on September 22.
As biopics on gangsters is the current flavour of the season, the recently released Daddy starring Arjun Rampal, which revolves around the life of the gangster-turned-politician Arun Gawli, showed not much of an impact in the box office.
