WEDDING RUMOURS SWIRL AROUND MASTER BATSMAN AND BOLLYWOOD STAR
THEY may have had a few bumps in their relationship along the way, but star couple Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma look very much like they are headed for marriage.
Despite not speaking in public about being a couple, they have become inseparable and recently delighted everyone by appearing in a wedding set advert, which saw them having a deeply romantic exchange. The commercial was such a hit that it began trending across social media. They have also been repeatedly photographed holding hands and making public appearances.
If there were still any doubts about them being loved-up, then Virat dispelled them with perhaps one of his most open interviews where he gushed about his ladylove. The Indian cricket captain said that ever since the A-list Bollywood star had come into his life four years ago, she had taught him a lot and enabled him to grow as a person. In addition to having a positive effect on his everyday life, Virat said the actress had helped him realise his full potential.
He revealed she was also his biggest support during a low point in his career when his form dipped and was there to share in triumphant moments. She also helped him detach from the negative aspects of social media.
“It’s the magic of my lady luck. I didn’t have any senses before, but ever since the lady has come into my life, she has taught me a lot of things,” said the big-hitting batsman.
Although he won’t openly talk about his relationship, Virat also doesn’t believe in hiding it and gave full credit for that to his fast bowler pal Zaheer Khan, who was the first to find out about the relationship.
“He said, ‘don’t try to hide it because it will cause you great stress. You are in a relationship and not committing a crime.’ He told me the right thing to do and I followed it,” explained Virat.
Meanwhile, Anushka has made it a rule to keep that side of her life private. In fact, she insists the media doesn’t ask any personal questions before interviews, but is very much in love with Virat.
They have now become the hottest celebrity couple in the subcontinent and one of the most bankable in terms of commercial endorsements. This has led to speculation about an impending December wedding, which their representatives have vehemently denied, but don’t be surprised if Virat and Anushka get hitched next year or in 2019.
